  • An apt way to title this newspost, because I don't know how else to construct this tirade without beginning it all with a thank you from the very bottom of my heart. Read more >>

  • My lords and ladies! We are now approaching our top speed down a one way street towards a big juicy LAN. It's a one way street because you simply cannot turn the car around on such a narrow strip of tarmac without denting a whole ass-load of cars while doing so, if you understand what I mean then simply sit back and let this powerful imagery wash over you. • With the LAN now less than 3 short weeks away, I'm guessing at least one body on here has noticed that neither Felix nor I have had a chance to do a front page post in a number of weeks, but this doesn't mean we're not around! I've got a bit of a slow day happening at work so here's a few splurts of what's been happening of le`pate. We've been playing Left 4 Dead demo, sooo... see you all at the LAN! Read more >>
  • On the road again....

  • As I sit now in my hotel room in Perth I feel refreshed and vitalised, far beyond any feeling of freshness I've felt in the previous 7-10 days and at this very moment I feel hope. Hope that life is more than the ooze of phlegm and mucus, the pain of my chest and lungs as said ooze builds homes and a family of little oozes, and my feverous forehead which is much more akin to an aging woman in menapause than it is to in fact... a forehead. • To fulfill your deep need for a tournament structure, you can find whole bushells of rules and configs at these precise locations. We want you to rest assured that these tournaments are going to be run, and run with the intent of distilling the best of you from the total sum of the LAN. We're not going to just let you run your own goddamn tournaments on your own choppy servers and hope that the best and fairest amongst the LAN actually prevails, and a true winner steps forth from the melee, bloodied hands held outstretched for the imminent awards ceremony. • I came to the realisation yester-evening that I've played TF2 pretty much every night this week, and every night there has been at least 6 Playtopia members in the server with me. It has now just started to sink in that what we have here is a community. A real community, both online and off, where mates play games with each other and each mates other mates make other mates with mates mates, mate. (ps: lol Australian) Read more >>
  • The 5th competition... OF AWESOME
  • Posted on 04/10/2008 by thrax
  • Ah, the 5th competition! Commonly refered to thus far as the Playtathalon or Playathalon in passing the official name I feel is still up in the air. Nevertheless it is planned, it is happening, and details are still being worked on vigorously and rigorously... depending on the ratio of V:Sleep. Something you should all keep in the back of your brains (or whatever matter resides between your aural orifices) is that this event is design as a zany competition to test your "off the cuff" ability to sit down and play whatever is put in front of you... your skills in "pure gaming" if you will... • I'm not sure how many of you will be attending SGL tomorrow, but it's not looking like a bad day of LAN now that 240 people have registered seats and there is a small pool of reserves collecting at the base of the sign-up list. If their games list didn't pique your interest the first time around, well first up you're going to hate our LAN; but SGL are set to host the World Cyber Games Guitar Hero 3 playoff which should be good to watch as GH3 is the prime spectator sport as far as video games go. If nothing else, anyone with excellent Counter-Striking skills and in the market for a new Logitech G15 should definately look at attending this weekend. On the topic of Sydney however, it is prime for a segue into Atomic Live 2008 as October rolls into view. Read more >>
