The LAN signups page will be a month old tomorrow and thankfully we're past the halfway mark already. Using the undeniable power of mathematics we can deduce that one month can generate 130 people and with just over two months to go until the LAN, that means before we factor in the "on the day" element we'll have a whopping 390 attendees.
While that is 140 more table spots than we had in mind, like any good hosts we're already budgeting space and festivities for an overflow of people. So that's why we're offering spectator tickets at a quarter of the standard ticket price. You might wonder why you would want to spectate a LAN event but if you ask me it's a better idea than actually attending, as you avoid the associated stigma with being a LAN gamer.
Don't worry - that didn't make sense to me either.
Ticket prices are finally cemented in at $60, with spectator passes costing you $15. Both get you all the meals for the whole 3 days and access to arcade machines and the console pit, but only full ticket holders get a table spot for a computer and free entry into a tournament team slot. Both types will be on sale as soon as the tickets hit our hands this week.
