The 5th competition... OF AWESOME

Ah, the 5th competition! Commonly refered to thus far as the Playtathalon or Playathalon in passing the official name I feel is still up in the air. Nevertheless it is planned, it is happening, and details are still being worked on vigorously and rigorously... depending on the ratio of V:Sleep. Something you should all keep in the back of your brains (or whatever matter resides between your aural orifices) is that this event is design as a zany competition to test your "off the cuff" ability to sit down and play whatever is put in front of you... your skills in "pure gaming" if you will...

While the original concept is and will remain the same, the games played in the event are ever-changing due to my russian`esque will to be able to play each event at any time. This means none of the multiplayer games I had originally planned to include will suffice, but there are more than enough single player events rearing their heads like the adonis that is "toasty" from MKII. To add to the difficulty of the tournament I was planning on keeping all games masked until the day so that noone had a chance to practice, however I'm now leaning towards the idea of releasing a list of possible games, that way anyone wanting to prac up and attempt to prac in say 20-30 games, but never actually know which of them will be in the event :) Rude huh? The final event will however be held secret, the "station" for it will be covered and or out of sight and you won't find out what it is until you're ready to compete. So what makes this different to the others? Well... even if you find out the other games on the day, they will be around the LAN to be played and practised for as much time as you really want to (keeping in mind doing so would draw you away from regular LAN gaming and other tournaments, mwauah) so you can infact develop an edge over others.

Each game will have its own scoring system (which you will be told at the LAN and re-told before you play your round) and once everyone has played each game scores will be tallied together to determine the winner. In the event of ties etc there will be special tie-breaker event(s) that will also be random, and these may turn multiplayer to pit you against the others. Beware - this competition is going to be ridiculous, and ridiculously hard to win. As Mr. Sir has already said - We're alotting a particularly nice/large swag to the victor (will be announced prior to the event, unlikely to be held over one's head as a trophy due to inability be lifted by a regular LAN attendee), and there can be only one. Is that one going to be you?

The entire admin team (anyone wearing an admin shirt) will be briefed on the comp prior to the LAN, and to 'record' your round on a game you simply grab any admin who is spare (or ask one who isn't if we're all busy) and ask them to witness (you must play the entire round with an admin present). That admin will then scurry away (immediately) and record your results in the vault for future analysis! Once an admin is present there are no retries etc, so if you screw the pooch that's just BL! This is a comp after all.

Pre-interest signups are not required as everyone is welcome to compete, you don't need to play the round in any order and once you play your first event your name will be in the competitors list. If you don't play each game it only means there's less possible points for you to obtain, however if time starts getting on and people are missing some results I'll announce it to give you a reminder.

So that's the 411! I'd say "get ready" or "be prepared" etc... but you can't! HA HA HA!!1! Just sit back, relax, and get ready for some fantastically unsensible mayhem! Literally everyone has a chance to win this thing! (even girls!)
